Additional Optional Rides and Tours

DC Cycling Concierge is offering a variety of bike tours and rides throughout the National Bike Summit. These are unique opportunities offered only to Summit attendees, offered at various times throughout the Summit outside of the conference program. Space is limited so sign up now as part of your Summit registration

Participants must have their own bike and helmet. Helmet use is required. (Bike rental information coming soon!)

RIDE AND TOUR DESCRIPTIONS
All rides and tours will start and finish at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City, except the "Capitol Hill and Off the Mall Sights at Night" Tour on Wednesday evening, which will start right from the Lobby Day reception on Capitol Hill.

Friday, March 8 

7:30 PM - “DC’s Best Sights at Night” Tour // $30 // 12 miles // ~4 hrs // casual pace w/ multiple stops enjoying DC’s iconic monuments and memorials brilliantly illuminated against a dark night sky.

Satuday, March 9 (Pre-Summit)

7:30 PM - “DC’s Best Sights at Night” Tour // $30 // 12 miles // 3+ hrs // casual pace w/ multiple stops enjoying DC’s iconic monuments and memorials brilliantly illuminated against a dark night sky.

Sunday, March 10

6:30 AM - Hills of the Potomac Fitness Road Ride // Free for Summit Attendees // 20-25 miles // 1 ½ – 2 hrs // 16+ mph Avg We’ll start with some easy rolling along the Potomac River before starting up a number of climbs out of the river valley to get at least a thousand feet of climbing (don’t laugh you mountain people, we are in the coastal plain! ;-)

6:30 AM - Quick Orientation Ride // Free for Summit Attendees // 12 miles // 2 hours // 12+ mph Avg Ride from the Hyatt Regency conference site to the Capitol Building, House & Senate buildings, noting Metro stations along the way, and if we’ll get to see a few sites along the way as we roll.

12:00 Noon - American History and Our Nation’s Capital // $30 // 11-13 miles // 2 hrs // casual pace w/ quick stops highlighting and some DC’s major monuments and memorials as well as some lesser known sites.

8:30 PM “Burning of Washington & Sights at Night” casual ride // $30 // 12 miles // 2 hrs // casual pace w/ multiple stops exploring the amazing stories of the British invasion of DC during the War of 1812 with stops at the Capitol, White House and as many other scenic sights lit up at night we can fit in.

Monday, March 11

7:00 AM - Fitness Trail Ride // Free for Summit Attendees // 20 miles // 1 ½ hrs // 15 mph Avg (Loop of bike trails including the Mount Vernon Trail, W&OD Rail Trail and the Four Mile Run Trail).

7:30 PM - “DC’s Best Sights at Night” Tour // $30 // 12 miles // 3+ hrs // casual pace w/ multiple stops enjoying DC’s iconic monuments and memorials brilliantly illuminated against a dark night sky.

Tuesday, March 12 (Lobby Day!)

6:30 AM - Quick Workout Group Road Ride // Free for Summit Attendees // 15-20 miles // 1 ½ hrs // 16+ mph Avg (Hains Point +)  

7:30 PM - “Capitol Hill and Off the Mall Sights at Night” Tour // $30 // 8-10 miles // 2 ½ - 3 hrs // casual pace w/ multiple stops including ice cream, gelato or sorbetto! (Note this ride begins from the Summit Lobby Day Reception on Capitol Hill.)
